The Beauty Catalog – All About The Face

Ladies and gents, I’ve come up with a list of products I use that I cannot complete my routine without. I also touch upon products I love.

I’ve tried so many products, some of which became favourites while others, to this day, linger in my makeup drawer – never to be used again. Without further ado, lets get to it.

ALL ABOUT THE FACE

First things first, primer. From the beginning of time, I’ve always stuck with Smashbox Cosmetics. I use the Photo Finish Foundation Primer Collection – Super Light Smooth & Blur for days I want light, effortless makeup. And for the days I glam out I use the Photo Finish Even Skintone Primer to conceal all the discolouration and smoothen out my skin.

Next up, foundations and concealers. I love trying new products, but my go-to will always be the ESTÉE LAUDER – Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation. I also love the Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Foundation the product applies very well, it is medium to full coverage depending on the amount you use. The only thing I don’t like about this product is that it’s scented and for me, the perfume- like scent is very strong – especially to be applied on the face. These two products are what I use when I want the full works. On the days I want the barely-there look I either use the Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation from Mac Cosmetics or the Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation. These two foundations are also medium coverage but I feel as if the texture in these foundations is much lighter than in the others.

The concealers I use are always 2 to 3 shades lighter than my foundation. Right now I am loving the It Cosmetics – Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer and the Urban Decay – Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer for my glam out looks. For my everyday concealer I usually use my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer.

It’s time to bake. Huda Beauty Loose Baking Powder takes the cake. Once again the strong perfume-like scent could’ve been avoided but the product itself is ah-maz-ing! I’ve given up all other powders for now because this is the holy grail of baking powders. Plus, no flashback whatsoever. I usually bake for about 5-6 mins and during that time I paint my brows. I have been using the Benefit Cosmetics ka-BROW Cream – Gel. I never use brow pencils because they just don’t work for me.

As soon as I’m done painting my eyebrows, I swipe away any excess baking product and move onto my contouring and highlight. I’ve been using the Smashbox Contour Kit for as long as I can remember – and it’s great but, I recently started using the NYX Cosmetics Pro Palette and it lives up to all the good things I’ve heard about it. Let’s just say that if I run out of both of these products, I’ll be purchasing the Pro Palette instead of the Smashbox kit. It’s less $$$ for more product!! For highlight I’ve been using the Huda Beauty 3D highlighter Palette when I want the ultimate glow. Other times I use the Amrezy Highlighter from Anastasia Beverly Hills which is temporarily out of stock. I do adore this product but you do have to stroke the brush a few times before it delivers. With Huda Beauty’s 3D highlighter, you really only have to apply it once.

Lastly, setting spray! I spray my Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray once all my makeup has been applied, including lipstick. And although every product is important on its own, I will stress the significance of a setting spray (specifically this one):

  1. Makeup stays put longer
  2. Makeup stays fresh
  3. Smoother looking skin
  4. Oil control
  5. No melting or fine lines

The list goes on.

My next post will be The Beauty Catalog- All About The Eyes, so stay tuned! 🙂
